Immersive Room

Mobile Immersive Rig (MIR) is a portable experiential audio environment designed to demonstrate the full impact and creative potential of Dolby Atmos immersive sound technology in a live, interactive setting. Developed for deployment at conventions, conferences, and public demonstrations, the MIR combines a fully transportable 7.1.4 immersive audio system with professional-grade monitoring, calibration, and playback infrastructure to create a true next-generation listening experience.

Designed specifically for educational outreach, technology demonstrations, and industry engagement, the MIR allows attendees to experience immersive audio applications across music production, automotive audio, entertainment systems, and emerging spatial media platforms. Its modular circular truss design enables rapid deployment in a wide variety of event environments while maintaining accurate Dolby Atmos speaker positioning and professional acoustic calibration standards.

The Mobile Immersive Rig was developed through a collaborative partnership between Lawrence Technological University’s Audio Engineering Technology Program and Plymouth Rock Recording Company, the university’s studio partner. The project represents a shared commitment to advancing immersive audio education, professional training, and real-world innovation within the rapidly evolving spatial audio industry.
